Sex and Nudity

An early kissing scene between the main character’s daughter and her boyfriend has some breast-groping which is quickly stopped. Sexually suggestive internet popups (advertisements for pornographic websites) are seen briefly in one scene, but they contain no nudity. There is a brief scene of intense kissing between two characters.

Violence and Gore

Numerous instances of people being shot, stabbed, or hit, though minimal to no blood is shown for most (but not all) of these. Numerous deaths are explicitly depicted in the film, though again typically with minimal blood shown. However, the main character is either bleeding or covered in blood for most of the movie. There is no overt gore shown in the film. One fight scene depicts a man falling into fast-moving cooling fans, killing him; however, the actual death of the man is not shown on camera, nor is his body shown while or after it encounters the fans. There is very frequent use of deadly force and threats of use of deadly force involving shooting (already noted), crushing (roads, cars, trucks, etc), falling (elevator shaft, helicopter crashing, overpass falls), and fire (natural gas explosions, elevator shaft fires, helicopter on fire with pilot inside). Much destruction and a threat of the country.

Profanity

One reviewer gives an overall profanity count at around 100. Rough counts for various terms include: 20+ s-word, 10+ a-word or versions of the a-word, 10 d-words with “God”, 20+ other uses of "God" and 10+ uses of "Jesus" as profanities. There were about 9 "hell", 5 d-words, and 1 "S.O.B.", There were several uses of slang for male genitals and “J*rkoff” b-word were used a few times. There is one alluding to the f-word though the actual word is cut off. Some commentators also say that the F-word was used more heavily in an R-rated original version, and that the F-word can still be seen being "mouthed," although other language has been dubbed in for the PG-13 version in release. These commentators see a future DVD as probably including restored use of the F-word.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking

None noted.

Frightening/Intense Scenes

Country in danger. Car crashes, bridges destroyed. Many people killed by explosion. Also, intense firefights.
